OUR STORY

My name is Glen Carrick Jr and my entire working life has been centred around designing and crafting, high quality, bespoke lighting, furniture and brassware. The industry was introduced to me through my father, Glen Carrick Sr, a master artisan who has been in the bespoke lighting business for more than 30 years. As a child, from time to time, I would visit his workshop and quickly became fascinated.

I soon began to sketch designs of my own, even creating my first desk lamp at the age of 14. I quickly progressed to researching famous designers and makers of fine furniture and lighting, building up an extensive knowledge of antique and mid-century design.

Upon leaving full-time education, I knew exactly what I wanted to do, and that was to follow in my father’s footsteps. I was lucky enough to start working with him at a large lighting company where he had become a lead craftsman.

I started off by learning the ancient sand-casting and lost-wax techniques, before then moving on to apprenticing my father directly. During this time I learned an immeasurable range of skills and techniques for the making of decorative metalwork.

During my time at the company, I created a vast portfolio featuring many beautiful statement pieces, featuring in some of the worlds most luxurious interiors. My work has been showcased in publications such as House and Gardens, and The World of Interiors. I’ve also been lucky to witness my work hanging in private villas in Dubai, historical manors in London and townhouses in New York.

My life revolves around lighting and furniture, even in my spare time I’m still heavily devoted to designing and crafting new pieces of work in my workshop. I had always dreamt of starting a company of my own, and in 2019 I decided to leave my role at the company I had worked at for over a decade in order to work towards fulfilling my dream.
